  Have a season pass and love the mountain. Great proximity to Calgary, amazing price and lots of varied terrain. My only complaint would be the extremely outdated amenities. Nothing seems to have been updated since the Olympics. If the lodges were updated a bit, this could be a real world class ski resort.

  Best for starters, wide runs and low cost season ticket if you buy it earlier. The ski school has the best deal for new skier. The learn to ski/snowboard lesson package only cost 245 or 273(peak season) which covers three days learning (any 3 days) include lift tickets, equipment rental and 2 2-hour lesson each day.

  This is a great family ski hill close to calgary. Great for skiing groomers and cruiser type runs. About 50 minutes from the west side of the city which is really nice. A reasonable magic carpet and beginner's area make this a good learning hill. The only drawback about Nakiska is that there a lot of racers here and I notice that Nakiska has had to step up some speed enforcement in beginner's areas to keep people skiing at a reasonable pace. The last few years they have also sold season passes for a very reasonable price.

  A great place for skiers of all abilities! Friendly staff excellent facilities and world class terrain all within an hour of Calgary. Just watched the World Cup Ski Cross race there and I must say it is an event that all fans of skiing should see. Also the first place where I got to ride a chairlift that crossed above another chairlift, pretty cool experience.

  Went to talk to customer service and they said other lifts will be open "soon". Won't sell friend half day pass half an hour early to make up for this... First and last season pass here, shame they don't put in the same effort as Sunshine. Sunshine once refunded my day pass because a lift stopped halfway through the day. Sunshine's facilities are open earlier in the season, better quality, and way better staff. I really wanted to like Nakiska as it was so close to Calgary.
